cheery welcome, well apportioned, nicely decorated and clean room; nice bathroom,
arrived at the hottest time of the year, room in the 2nd flr (attic) was warm even at night; room facing a fairly noisy main street, not elder friendly as my mum in law had to climb up the stairs, just stayed 1 night of planned 4day trip,

For a place that touts the availability of parking, the on-street arrangement means it's all up for grabs and not guaranteed, which can be tricky. The room's proximity to the busy road resulted in some disturbing noise at night. Breakfast options lacked variety, requiring pre-planning if you wanted anything beyond the pre-packaged croissant. The communal coffee machine had limited operating hours, which may not suit those looking for an early caffeine boost.

The bedrooms were fabulous. Newly furnished to high individual standard. Exposed beams snd designer feel. Spacious. DVD library in lounge. Nice touch. Comfortable beds and crisp White bed linen. Lovely staff. Nothing too much trouble.
Location ! Not far to walk into town. About 15 mins but terrible neighbourhood. Broken glass and dumped mattresses in alleyways. Loud music at back and busy main road at front. Thought that cooked breakfast option should have been included in price. Continental was included and good choice. Also booked on Internet through different website. No mention of surcharge for credit/debit cards. How else are you meant to book online? Hotel wanted to add surcharge when we arrived but kindly relented when I showed them my online invoice. Just a bit irritating though. Also requested 2 rooms on same floor as travelling eith children. Hotel did not receive this requested from online booking. Could have been an issue except that other guests had not arrived yet so they were able to accommodate us. If you ignore neighbourhood and can park your car in the small secure carpark at the back then this is a lovely cosy hotel, family owned with a designer bedroom feel. However first impressions are scary. Probably better when the B&B next door is renovated. Put this building in a better area and it would be a great little oasis.

Highly recommend this hotel
Checking in could be a lot smoother. Relying on text messages when your ETA is & then having problems contacting the owners when you arrive. All sorted in the end & well looked after

great access to parks and landmarks for city explorations
I loved how quiet it was despite being on a busy road. Breakfast was really good value for money that fueled my daily adventures around the city, especially visiting the beautiful Bute Park, just over 2 km away, and the iconic Principality Stadium, easily reachable in under a 30-minute walk.
